Will Sales Keep Up If Your Brand Posts More TikTok Shop Videos?

Posting more videos won't grow TikTok Shop sales at the same rate. Charm.io, an e-commerce analytics firm, counted 76% more beauty product videos on US TikTok Shop in Q3 2026 than a year earlier, while beauty sales grew 39%. Over the same period, shops, creators and products grew roughly in line with sales; only videos grew far faster.

Sales are concentrated in a small group of creators. At a Dealsite K-beauty roundtable in Seoul in May 2026, a TikTok e-commerce client partner walked through TikTok's creator tiers. Videos from creators at level L3 and above, who sell at least $25,000 a month, are 10% of all affiliate videos but generate 75% of sales. The tiers are set by sales, not followers.

Top-tier creators gather around products that already have videos selling. Speaking at a retail forum in June, the same partner explained that once good videos go up, other creators see the product as a seller and higher-tier creators follow. So BAZZAAL first seeds widely among nano creators to collect candidate videos. Once the product goes on sale, it finds the videos that drew orders in Seller Center, asks those creators for ad authorization first and then puts ad spend behind those videos. Only videos a creator has authorized can run in TikTok Shop ads.

In short

  • Seed three to four weeks before a product's launch date or a sale event. Under TikTok Shop Academy's rules, adding product links takes at least 1,000 followers, so check counts when building the list.

  • Once the product goes on sale, use Seller Center's Video Analytics to find the videos that drew orders. In the first few days, before sales build up, look at product clicks and click-through rate.

  • Ask those creators for ad authorization and run their videos in TikTok Shop ads. Plan the next video with the creators who drove orders first.

Have sales kept up with the number of videos?

On US TikTok Shop, beauty videos have multiplied much faster than beauty sales. Charm.io, an e-commerce analytics firm, counted 10.4 million active beauty product videos in Q3 2026, 76% more than a year earlier.

Beauty and personal care sales that quarter reached $992.9 million, up 39.1% year over year, so videos grew at nearly twice the rate of sales. Sales growth itself slowed, too: it had been 96% in Q1 2026 and 82% in Q2 before falling to 39.1% in Q3.

Charm.io also tracks the gap as sales per video, dividing total quarterly beauty sales by the number of active beauty product videos. That figure fell from about $379 in Q3 2024 to $121 in Q3 2025 and $96 in Q3 2026, a drop of nearly 75% in two years.

A Charm.io analyst advised brands to stop chasing volume and work with creators on videos likely to convert. TikTok's own numbers show where those videos come from.

Which videos actually drive orders?

Orders come from the videos of a small group of creators, and the 10% and 75% cited above hold on a different base. ChosunBiz reported the same partner's June talk as saying that L3-and-above creators are 11% of all creators and that their videos account for about 75% of sales.

Chart: videos from L3+ creators are 10% of affiliate videos and 75% of sales. In Reacher data, 86% of affiliate creators made zero sales. Sources: Dealsite, Flywheel

A big following isn't what puts a creator in the top tier. The same talk cited a creator with 20,000 to 50,000 followers who sold $250,000 to $300,000 of one brand's product in a month. The partner said purchases happen even without a huge following when the algorithm shows the product well.

Most creators, meanwhile, sell nothing. The agency Flywheel analyzed data from Reacher, a creator outreach software company, and reported in October 2026 that 86% of affiliate creators generated zero sales. Across the 1.5 million product samples Reacher has handled, 53% never led to a video.

K-beauty brands have seen the same. According to Maekyung Economy, Dr. Melaxin's early outreach on US TikTok Shop went like this: for every 100 creators it approached, about 10 agreed to meet and three or four sold the product. Then one or two sold hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth in a short time, and other creators started paying attention.

There is no way to know in advance who those one or two creators will be. That makes a wide pool of candidates the first step.

How do you collect candidate videos widely?

TikTok Shop's seller guide describes creator collaboration as casting a wide net to find bestsellers. In a market where most affiliates sell nothing, as the Reacher data shows, it takes many candidates to surface the few who sell. The point of more videos is finding those few, not the volume itself.

Step chart: seed nano creators 3–4 weeks before launch, find the videos that drew orders once sales start, get each creator’s ad authorization, then put ad spend behind them in GMV Max

For this step BAZZAAL uses unpaid seeding, where creators receive the product and no fee. With no fees involved, one round can go to many nano creators and test many videos at once. Seeding starts three to four weeks before the sales date, so videos are already live when the product goes on sale.

Candidates have to differ before they can be compared. A BAZZAAL brief names one concern the product solves and one shot the video must include, then asks creators to say the rest in their own words. When every creator reads the same script, the videos look like ads, and nobody can tell which scene drove the orders.

Comparing videos by orders also requires a product link on each one. TikTok Shop Academy requires at least 1,000 followers to join as an affiliate creator, so BAZZAAL checks follower counts when building the list. Once the product goes on sale, the next job is finding which of these candidates drew orders.

How do you find the videos that drew orders?

Once the product goes on sale, rank videos by sales per video. Seller Center's Video Analytics splits videos into a Self-Operated tab and an Affiliate tab. Seven metrics show by default: GMV, SKU orders, buyers, product impressions, product clicks, click-through rate and click-to-order rate.

In the first week, while sales are still thin, look at the step just before the order. A video that draws many product clicks relative to its product impressions is sending viewers to the product page. Ranking by views alone hides that difference.

Plan the next video first with the creators whose videos drew orders. In Reacher's data, creators who posted more videos earned more per video: those with one video averaged $7.19 in sales per video, while those with more than 20 averaged $74.07.

What does it take to run a chosen video as an ad?

Putting ad budget behind a chosen video starts with the creator's authorization. Since July 2025, new ads that use TikTok Shop as the sales destination can only be built in GMV Max. GMV Max automatically adds affiliate videos that creators have authorized to its pool of ads. A video without that authorization stays out, however well it sells.

TikTok flags these videos for you. The GMV Max report has an "Authorization Recommended" tab. It lists videos that drew orders in the selected period but have no ad authorization, and TikTok recommends getting them authorized so GMV Max can use them.

There are two ways to get authorization. If a creator turns on mass authorization in TikTok Shop Creator Center, every seller can use all of that creator's affiliate videos in ads. To allow a single video, the creator generates a video code and shares it, choosing an authorization period of 7, 30, 60 or 365 days.

The two end differently. Ads on mass-authorized videos pause if the creator turns authorization off, the affiliate collaboration ends, or the video loses its product link. Ads on a video code keep running until the code expires.

Creators have a reason to say yes. They can still earn commission on orders that come through ads using their videos, and sellers can set a separate commission rate for ad-driven orders anywhere from 1% to 80%.

TikTok's help page notes that authorizing a video does not transfer ownership, which stays with the creator. Authorization is permission to use the video in TikTok Shop ads, and once granted, the video joins GMV Max's pool of ad candidates.

How do you put ad budget behind the chosen videos?

GMV Max decides how budget is split across videos. TikTok recommends auto-selecting videos over picking them by hand and advises keeping more than 50 videos with product links in the campaign. The system tests them and gradually gives more delivery to the ones that perform.

TikTok's advice to keep many videos is about giving the system more candidates to test; delivery still flows to the videos that perform. So the brand's job is to make sure the videos that drew orders are in that pool. Authorize the videos in the Authorization Recommended tab first, then use Creative Boost on videos drawing many product clicks. Creative Boost sets aside extra budget for specific videos, and TikTok recommends it for promising ones.

TikTok Shop Academy recommends the same order. On a small budget, find the videos that sell without ads first, start small with ads on those, and scale up based on results.

K-beauty brands have moved this way. ZDNet Korea reported that EQQUALBERRY spread videos through TikTok Shop's open affiliate program, then used GMV Max to pick out the highest-converting affiliate videos and concentrate ads on them. The report said monthly sales more than doubled after the brand joined TikTok Shop and return on ad spend topped 150%.

Tramicheck found that through August 2025, 82% of Dr. Melaxin's TikTok Shop sales came from affiliates and that the brand boosted select high-performing affiliate videos with ads. Beauty Independent reported that Medicube and Missha scale performance spending around content with a clear return.

What should a brand do first in a sales season like Black Friday?

The order stays the same in a sales season; only the starting step depends on how much time is left. With more than three to four weeks to go, send new seeding first. Any closer, and new videos will land at the tail end of the season, so get authorization for videos that already drew orders and put budget behind them.

In a season, start with videos featuring sets. TikTok Shop's head of beauty said gift sets, advent calendars, bundles and discovery sets do extremely well every year.

Season dates change every year, so check that year's TikTok Shop announcement. In 2026, TikTok Shop's Black Friday and Cyber Monday event runs from November 11 to 30.

FAQ

What does $96 in sales per video mean?

It is Charm.io's average: total Q3 2026 beauty sales divided by the number of active beauty product videos. BAZZAAL did not measure it, and it does not describe what a typical video earned. FastMoss found that videos accounted for 51.3% of beauty sales in September 2026, with the rest from LIVE, product cards, search and similar sources. Read it as a gauge of how sales grew relative to video volume.

Analytics firms report different numbers. Which should I use?

Whichever you use, cite the firm and the period. Charm.io put Q3 2026 US TikTok Shop beauty and personal care sales at $992.9 million. FastMoss put the same quarter at $1.21 billion. The comparison of video growth against sales growth comes from Charm.io's figures.

Once a video is authorized for TikTok Shop ads, can the brand use it anywhere?

No. Authorization covers TikTok Shop ads, and ownership stays with the creator. The usage rights BAZZAAL lays out cover brand account reposts, ad creative, product pages, in-store screens and email, and each channel needs its own permission.

When should a brand go LIVE?

BAZZAAL puts LIVE last, because, as it argued in an August 2026 post, LIVE gathers demand that already exists rather than creating new demand. Charm.io found that the top four beauty sellers by LIVE sales in the first half of 2026 were the same four that led short-form video ad spend. The brands that went big on LIVE also went big on video ads. FastMoss estimated that LIVE made up 10.1% of US TikTok Shop beauty sales in September 2026 and only 5.1% for skincare. A skincare brand should fund the videos that drew orders first.

What if no video draws orders?

Refill the candidate pool. In BAZZAAL's always-on program for SKIN1004, the target is about 400 creators a month, and any shortfall in posting creators is recruited again the next month. Some brands, such as Dr. Melaxin, took seven months from first listing to steady sales, so the first sales month is too early to judge.
